EAP goes beyond conversation — it builds the academic writing, critical thinking and study skills Australian universities actually demand.

Program levels

From Intermediate

EAP is built as a ladder — you join at the right rung and climb until you reach the standard your degree or postgraduate program requires.

Skills you build

What you’ll
walk away with

Academic Writing

Argumentative essays, dissertations and research papers with structure, cohesion and formal academic register — from first draft to final text.

Critical Reading

Scientific articles, university chapters and academic reports — reading to analyse, compare and question, not just to understand.

Lectures & Seminars

Listening and note-taking strategies to keep up with lecturers at native speed and take an active part in tutorials.

Academic Vocabulary

The Academic Word List (570+ word families), formal collocations and the hedging language of university writing.

Citing & Referencing

APA, Harvard and Chicago — how to cite sources properly, paraphrase without plagiarising and build a reference list.

Oral Presentations

Seminars, academic debate and defences in English — formal fluency with critical argument and command of the university register.

Why take EAP

The most direct road to university

Many Australian universities accept the EAP certificate from partner schools as an alternative to IELTS — no external exam, no single make-or-break score. You prove your English through real performance across the course.

Already have IELTS? EAP still earns its keep: it builds the skills the university will demand from week one — essay writing, critical reading, seminars and academic debate.

Prerequisite: Intermediate English (B1 or above). Not there yet? We’ll build a plan combining General English with EAP.

The EAP → University pathway

01A placement test sets your entry level (B1 to C1)
02Classes focused on academic skills — 20 to 25 hours a week
03Level-by-level progression — each term runs 10 weeks
04EAP certificate issued when you complete the Advanced level
05Direct admission to partner universities — no external IELTS exam
